On the morning of January 23, 1976, Mercedes-Benz AG introduced their brand new W123 sedan to the automotive press at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France. The factory provided 33 cars for the event, lined up in ascending order from the 200D all the way up to fully loaded 280E models.
